The Brothers

I have found many pictures of the boys together.  Some are with and without grandma and grandpa.  Don Dee, Lawrence and Kenny liked to stand on their tippy toes to see who was taller.  There was many changes over the years.

I keep finding more pictures and changing how I am laying out my pictures.  I can't believe I am finding so many old pictures.  I wish I knew who everyone was.  It proves that it is important to writing information down.

Hope you enjoy this group of pictures.  It was fun finding them and then putting them together.
Now to work on families.

Doris Ann Overmyer

Today I finished many pages.  The first two pages are of Doris Ann Overmyer.  She was born October 7th, 1930 and died January 16, 1931.  Grandpa and Grandma had three other children that died.  Charlotte Louise, born December 4,  1928 and died December 14, 1928.  Twins William and Jane born October 8, 1942 and only lived two hours.  They were the last children born.  Grandma always wanted a girl.

How Grandpa Lloyd and Grandma Nora met

Grandpa Lloyd and Grandma Nora Overmyer used a horse buggy when they met at church (now Zion Church) while in high school. They eloped and took the Tooterville Tolley to get married in St. Joe, Michigan. After they married they lived at Frank Huey's house until they finished high school. ( The house is where is there is a long lane near our home on the gravel road ). Sam was born while they lived there. Later they moved to South Bend so Grandpa Lloyd could work at Studebaker and go to business school. They lived with Aunt Bessie and Uncle Walter. Grandpa owned or managed a boarding house while he and grandma lived in South Bend. Grandpa graduated from South Bend Business School. Grandpa Lloyd hurt his hand at work (Studebaker). A motor fell on his hand at work. He got blood poisoning and almost lost his hand from the accident.  That was when grandpa’s finger would not move again. He was given money as a settlement. The post office offered Grandpa Lloyd a job after the accident but he did not take it and moved to Lake Bruce to build the garage.  Grandpa Lloyd made the blocks for the garage from gravel from the Smith Gravel Pit. Rocks for the porch of the house would later also come from the Smith Gravel Pit. Ten years after Sam became a minister grandpa would become a minister.

Grandpa and Grandma Overmyer

I am very busy trying to get my next pages done.  I have ran into a problem on how to lay the pictures out.  I have grouped them the way I want, but I am having problems figuring out what emblishments will look right.  I just keep laying out a plan and changing it.  I have interviewed dad and need to figure out how to put that into the book.  This is just the beginning of pictures of my grandparents.
